This looks very interesting indeed!

acrush · 27 minuten geledenWell I could have done without the improvement if it meant keeping the prices low, might have to find a better model for cheap inference
alxcls · 42 minuten geledenThe credibility point is the most interesting part of this. In semiconductors, having a good design seems secondary to convincing customers that you'll still be around to support it years later. RISC-V lowers the barrier to building a CPU, but i'm not sure it lowers the trust barrier nearly as much.

redbuck · 1 uur geledenYes, but the news cycle only liked the topic when it could be outraged. There were no large headlines explaining how things were resolved, which is what I was complaining about.
OroPla · 1 uur geledenNo. How did you arrive at that conclusion? The equivalent for Italian would be colonization of some area (say, somewhere around the Mediterranean or Black Sea) by Venetians and other Adriatic or Northern Italic peoples, founding new urban centers, developing a mish-mash of their original Romance dialects, and exerting cultural influence via their more advanced culture/technology ; and then some local non-Italic people adapting to that via economic/cultural exchange, losing their native language in the process, as they had already lost their original religion by converting to Judaism. Read Koestler's book to understand (or get an AI summary).
Lumich · 1 uur geledenInteresting to see Windows support on the roadmap. I’ve been spending a lot of time on the Windows side of Kubernetes networking/security recently, although mostly down at WFP/kernel level rather than process/terminal APIs. Curious which of the Windows gaps has turned out to be the hardest so far.

OroPla · 1 uur geledenShouldn't the smaller scale be a lot more easy to figure out? The larger the scale the more variables there are the harder everything becomes.
OroPla · 1 uur geledenI'm not having trouble understanding the physics. CO2 levels are now around 400ppm. During the Cambrian age it was ten times of that at around 4000ppm. If CO2 levels were so much higher before humans existed, then how did it go down? (My understanding is that plants store it by growing.) And how can we be sure that it is emissions that makes it go up, rather than killing forests that used to store it? Wouldn't it be effective to just plant a bunch of forests in our deserts that store the CO2? California used to be mostly desert, too, but then some guy from Germany came and redirected some water to make it not as much of a desert anymore and that was over 200 years ago.
OroPla · 1 uur geledenLove this concept! Connecting travelers and hosts based on personality, interests, and lifestyle sounds like a much more authentic way to travel. Excited to see where this goes!
RitaLaureano · 1 uur geledenThe format preserves all fields — name, description, and input schema are all there, just encoded with pipes instead of braces and quotes. It's lossless, not a truncation. I should have made that clearer in the post.
mcptokensaver · 1 uur geledenFair point. I used tiktoken (cl100k_base) for all measurements. The 2,034 token count is from the actual JSON tool listing returned by 5 MCP servers (filesystem, memory, sequential-thinking, sqlite, time). The benchmark script is in the repo under /benchmarks if anyone wants to verify.
mcptokensaver · 1 uur geledenApart from "I have fun working on this", which is always legit, what's the point and who's supposed to use it? What'd be the benefit using with or working on it over e.g. Godot, which is, imo, pretty much the open source way to go if you want more than an IDE and libs/code you'd use to make a game. It's also written in C# and offers GDScript as a more lightweight programming language with C# being ready to be used for when it's necessary.
gauntr · 1 uur geledenGreat service, exactly what I was missing in my solo travels. Indeed my friends are never free and sometimes we just want to meet new people and explore fun things together
goncalo999 · 2 uur geledenYou could also check out token.dance. They offer DeepSeek and other models through an OpenAI-compatible API, and the pricing seems pretty competitive. Might be worth comparing the cache rates.
brandon997 · 2 uur geledenThe cruelest version of this is the page that survives while everything it links to dies. Looks alive, leads nowhere.
TrinityFate · 2 uur geledenIn this new blog post, I will share my Linux kernel code dive deep journey, to solve a case where CPU profiling revealed a mysterious kernel spin unlock function that burnt heavy CPU cycles. This is a practical study on text book concepts: CPU scheduling, threading model, context switches, semaphores, spin locks, memory barriers, CPU cache, preemptions, NUMA, and so on. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

shussjjs · 2 uur geledenHmm.. how you justify? Provoking war, this is how the empire "defends" itself, usually. I just hope that this time it will get stuck in your throat.
hmmidontknow · 3 uur geledenNeat protocol, shame about the users. Also the VC-backed funding for this infrastructure will run out eventually. It's not self-sustaining, and Bluesky have no viable route to profitability.
erryy · 3 uur geledenI wanted to see how far I could push browser horror under strict size limits. Pale Hollow has zero image or audio files—every texture, normal map, 3D mesh, and sound effect is procedurally generated at boot in WebGL2 and WebAudio. Takes ~10 minutes to play directly in-browser.
HollowPale · 3 uur geledenIf you’re worried about pricing, token.dance might be worth a look. It offers multiple AI models through one OpenAI-compatible API at competitive prices.
brandon997 · 3 uur geledenJeez - You might as well ask for access to my location, bluetooth, and kids health data while launching the site.
unified101 · 3 uur geledenYou might want to check out token.dance. It offers multiple AI models through one OpenAI-compatible API, with very competitive pricing.
