Ask HN: Is there a market for AI critics?

I have a bit of an odd background -- like a lot of folks, I became interested in IT security during the free fire zone that was the late 90s and early 2000s internet -- battlefield promoted at age 12 into household sysadmin was an... interesting dynamic. (Parents try to take compy away, it inevitably fills with bloatware after a few days) Flash forward -- after reporting an insider threat, I don't currently work in IT security, and took on a job in retail. They seem to struggle with statistics -- I'm having flashbacks to when my professors would pawn their conference reviews onto me. One of the reasons I dropped out of my PhD was the circular firing squad of academic misconduct... well maybe misconduct is a bad word. Junk science? People would use their influence to get a shitty paper into a top tier venue, then others would parrot their style and cry discrimination if they too weren't allowed to do shitty science. Anyways... I have a background in policy and infosec that makes me uniquely skilled to help companies that SINCERELY want to use AI to improve their business flows. Is there a market for this? I am speaking to you on a burner -- you could make one yourself and clue me in if I'm just too darn autistic and nobody actually wants to use AI to enrich the lives of others. But it's not fun, having been gatekept for not being able to write C[1] only to now be gatekept by people who lack my technical skills and lateral thinking... Anyways, are there roles like this? Is there a specific title I should look for? And at the meta level, why am I constantly told I have a plethora skills, but finding employment feels like a snipe hunt -- I was under the impression folks at my level are usually recruited, and I've been feeling lately like maybe there is no market for my skills and I should just... go live in the woods or something. Anyways, to be fair I don't know a ton about LLMs, but that's because I mostly use them to write little scripts or translate primary sources I'm OSINTing...
