I'm tired, worried and particularly burnt out.

I realized that I've never been in control at any point in my entire life despite that I thought otherwise, which is kind of a relief: no regrets for the past. Consciously making peace with uncertainty though is not for the faint of heart. Working on that.

Not that good. Struggling at work. We had a series of hard issues in a row and I felt being accused for poor work in the past, when while it is true I should have understood technical stuff in the past better, a lot of this was due to technical debt. I am seeing the end of the tunnel, but I hope nothing else comes up for a while or I'll have a mental breakdown. On top of this I'm struggling with my little kids. They are giving us a hard time going to bed on time, keep coming up, and I get frustrated with them and hate myself after because I have a reaction and get mad at them. I just hope this period passes soon.

Great! I am returning from a vacation. I read books, sketched, cared for horses, ate food fresh from the garden, and spent quality time with a friend. We watched the eclipse and the perseids. Return to work is… mixed. I am self-employed and love my job, but AI is killing my business without replacing it. Google Zero is a scourge. I have a backup, but I am not excited about it. It feels like the end of a great era for me, and for the web. Still, for a moment on that farm, I was happy. It confirmed to me that there exists other ways of finding joy, even on a much reduced income. It makes the loss feel more like changing gears, and less like trying to catch a falling knife.

I'm kinda bored waiting for a coding agent to signal completion on a long run. A little hungry (it's almost lunch time). In good spirits.

I'm feeling okay. I got to go climbing this week. That tends to elevate my mood. But sometimes, I think I'm in a long-term state of permanent burnout. Do you mind saying what worries you? And why you're feeling burnt out? I hope it's a transient thing.
